We are in high spirits after sponsoring the Farmfoods European Senior Masters Golf Tournament – a charity golf tournament held in aid of The Lord’s Taverners charity.
The event was held on Thursday 30th September at the breath-taking Forest of Arden, at Marriott Hotel & Country Club, one of Britain’s top golf resorts and renowned as one of the European Tour’s leading venues.
With more than 60 golf legends playing, special player appearances included Ian Woosnam OBE, Paul Lawrie OBE, Michael Campbell, Phil Price, Stephen Dodd, Thomas Levet, Marcus Brier, Barry Lane and host Peter Baker.
Throughout the day, the Whisky Investment Partners’ pop-up bar offered blind-tasting sessions for the players, hosted by Birmingham Whisky Club’s Amy Seton.
There was also a whisky cocktail hour towards the end of the day for players to enjoy a drink after their game, before heading to the charity auction and evening dinner.
Whisky Investment Partners donated a cask of New Make Glasgow distillery whisky worth £4,200, to the auction, which went on to raise a staggering £10,000 for Lord’s Taverners, a London-based charity which offers young disabled people and those from deprived areas to engage in sport and in their local communities.
Alistair Moncrieff, Managing Partner at Whisky Investment Partners, said: “We are delighted to have sponsored such a renowned event. As whisky investment experts, it was great to have players enjoying a glass of Scotch with us after the tournament at our specially made pop-up bar. We were thrilled to see that our cask of new make Glasgow Distillery generated so much interest and sold at the auction after receiving plenty of bids.”
“We’re grateful to have the opportunity to help raise money for a great cause, and having golfing legends there really helped to mark the occasion.”
John Hayes, CEO at event organisers, Champions UK, added: “We had such a wonderful four days at the Farmfoods European Senior Mastera Golf Tournament, with a worthy win by Markus Brier. It was wonderful to have Whisky Investment Partners join us as sponsors and to raise such an incredible amount of money for such a worthy cause.”
